Why Day Zero?
I blogged regularly until a few years ago, and then life got too busy. I decided to start writing again - and this covers some of the learnings I have from my career and from my readings. This primary audience for this newsletter is “me” — it is also a bit like my second brain — a way to archive my thoughts and what I find interesting, and I hope others find it useful as well.
I’ve had the good fortune of working across a multitude of technology paradigms, serving and supporting people from different backgrounds. My successes and failures have taught me a lot and I hope this enlightens others not to make the same mistakes. It’s always Day Zero in my world - I like to stay in a state where I’m #AlwaysLearning.
A lot of what these posts cover are areas that interest me — software engineering, product management, leadership, startups, VC, SaaS, etc. Having worked across both India and Silicon Valley, you might find ample references to both. I intend to keep all posts free - so no pressure :)
How I can help
I strongly believe in “pay it forward” and am always willing to help if it’s within my means. However, I also get a lot of requests so I wanted to write down some dos and don’ts:
If you think I can help you in any way, do reach out. The worst I can do is: not reply or respectfully decline.
The best way to reach out to me is through email (kk<mylastname>-at-gmail). I may not be as responsive on Linkedin or Twitter DMs.
Please send me a concise email with some context and your specific ask - if you send me a lot of material to review, I will probably never get to it.
My calendar’s pretty tight, so if you ask me for a call or coffee, it’s likely I will respectfully decline. For the best way to ask for help, see #3.
I may not be able to get everybody a job or invest in every company - so if I’m silent, know that it’s just because I’m unable to find the right fit.
Stay up-to-date
You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox. I typically try to write one edition per week.
